Excuse me: The VA can’t really say how much it spends on mail? It spend a lot, obviously, and it really cannot say why it spends so much. Looking at this article from Stars and Stripes it struck me that if an organization cannot track what it spends on mailing costs then is it any wonder it cannot do things like arrange for timely medical treatment for veterans. I wish I could say that the information in this article shocks me. Sadly, it does not. This is yet another reminder of the many changes that are needed at the VA. The jury is still out as to whether any progress is being made.
